Desire

I love skiing, the mountains, driving cross-country for through the night, exploring. But how often do I limit myself. I find solutions for my desires, carefully planning what I believe will be at least somewhat satisfying - scheming on maps, dreaming of summits, camping in lush valleys, and swimming in cold mountain waterfalls under blue skies. But then God you show me once again a desire for something so much more. You haunt me with a longing so deep, it captivates me and everything else becomes so less important. Once again I realize I don't really know what I want. Sure, I understand some of my loves and you so often satisfy them because they are a large part of who I am. But God you understand me in ways I'll never even come close to understanding. Who am I to know if the things I know I now love are only a shadow of those things that will be revealed. I often become discouraged because I believe that incredible deep desire will be gone, never to return. Or it will never be satisfied. But I must trust you. I know I want you more than anything God. And I want you to lead and be intertwined in every part of my life. I don't ever want to live without you!! You and only you will satisfy my greatest desire.
